Background

Oak & Soy is a trendy new cafe in Vancouver Gastown offering a relaxed, artsy and cozy environment. They differentiate themselves with unique flavours, Instagrammable drinks, latte of the month and the ability to purchase their custom coffee blends online.

Challenge

Designing and developing a WordPress site with eCommerce functionality. The website shall be easy to navigate, display the menu and let the users buy coffee blends online​​​​​​​.

Solution

After detailed research, I have selected Phlox Shop, a modern theme designed for digital shops and WooCommerce.

I have created a homepage that would be easy to navigate and feature all information required for quick decision making. Displaying the location and contact details in easily accessible places will let the user quickly find and contact the cafe.

WooCommerce core plugins added to the theme enabled me to activate the shop functions, while adding the shop items as Products will let the client quickly edit all products and their prices in the future.
