Background
International Air Transport Association (IATA) represents about 290 airlines or 82% of total air traffic. The Association holds surveys and releases reports on critical aviation issues.
IATA’s Annual Review 2020 has revealed that 43% of direct aviation jobs (4.8 million) were lost in 2020 at airlines, airports, manufacturers and air traffic management. As a result, a net loss of US airlines reported in 2020 amounts to $118.5 billion.
Challenge
Create a series of infographics visualizing COVID’s impact on three US industries: the Aviation Industry, the Hospitality Industry and the Restaurant Industry.
Solution
I have analyzed the statistical information released by International Air Transport Association and visualized the data in a form of infographics. Since the infographic is text-heavy, I have created a series of abstract icons showing objects associated with the air transportation industry.
